32 Wounded Warfighters from Spaulding Rehabilitation enjoyed a day of fishing, comradeship and great diner at the Boathouse Restaurant on Thursday Sept. 10th.  The boats provided by the "Falmouth Inner Harbor Charters' under Captain Matt "Cranny"  Carroll and his Flotilla did a super job as usual and couldn't be done without your donations. The fish the Heroes caught was cook and served to perfection. Thanks you Captain Terry Clen, CCVI Executive Director and head of Wounded Warfighters Group for always setting up these trips, and raising the funds.  Brother Dave Wilson (CCVI Piper), just back from Ireland sang some great songs. Much thanks to Mary Patstone from Spaulding for getting the troops there. Each Wounded Hero got a specially made Quilt from Crazy Quilters of Cape Cod, (http://www.crazyquiltersofcapecod.com/).

My thanks go out to the Cape Cod Veterans for an unforgettable experience. The kindness, hospitality, and generosity are unsurpassed. The thrill of going out and having the chance to fish with experts was surreal!

As a veteran who is disabled, I can only relate how thankful I am to have had this opportunity. I regret that I am personally unable to directly show my gratitude to all of the groups involved in this event. The crazyquiltersofcapecod! I'll cherish my quilt knowing the love that went into its fabrication. The Spaulding Rehab folks that led me to participate. The harbor master, Captains, and the USCG; all who had our back.

My apologies for anyone who I failed to mention, the VFW Post 10274, the Boathouse Restaurant, and of course Dave Wilson for the tunes. Now I can cross "Ocean Fishing" off the list of things yet to be accomplished.

My warmest regards,
Francis "Cisco" Gutierrez
